Disabled Traveller -There is no doubt that London is improving as a destination for disabled travelers. However, we are still talking about a country where most pubs close at 11.30pm, and Wimbledon tennis players can wear any coloured clothing they like, as long as its white.
What we are trying to say is that in a city this size, the big wheels of change take a while to turn. Encouragingly, you will find many of London’s hotels, museums, restaurants, and sightseeing attractions provide wheelchair ramps. New buildings and transport systems are designed to be accessible for people who are in a wheelchair, blind, or have some other disability; older buildings are being adapted where possible; and some large parks and gardens provide special vehicles for disabled people to enjoy them. However, it is still be more convenient to organise accommodation and some of your touring in advance.
Below you will find some tips, recommendations and handy websites to ensure your stay is a comfortable, fun and memorable one.
